What are your performance times?
For new wedding bookings, 40|Beat's standard performance times are as follows:
8pm - 11:30 pm: 40Beat perform live (with a 30-minute break during your evening buffet)
11:30pm - midnight: 40Beat DJ Set to keep your party going!
If your venue has a late licence and you would like us to perform a longer set and/or DJ set at your event, email us and we will sort you out with a quote. For corporate or charity bookings, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
What is the 40Beat Dj set?
For the last half hour of the evening, we can provide some dancefloor-filling tunes from our DJ booth and take requests from your guests. We have found this has been a great addition to the set, helping to change the pace of the evening and tailor the evening to your tastes. Some couples have sent us a few requests in advance to be played during this set and we can even play your last dance before or at the end of the DJ set.
How long does it take the band to set up?
It takes the band an hour to set up, soundcheck the equipment and get changed into our stagewear. This hour starts from the point the band gains access to the stage. We will always aim to arrive at your venue 90 mins prior to the agreed performance time. In the unlikely event that any problems do arise, we will alert you or your event coordinator.
What kind of music do you play?
40|Beat covers a wide variety of styles; from old classics right through to current chart hits. We can also include a choice selection of Scottish Country Dances (with the steps called so everyone can join in) and party games too if you request it. Having the benefit of both male and female lead vocals allows us to provide a more varied selection of material that will keep all of your guests happy.

How much do you charge?
If you fill out our online inquiry form or contact us via our contact page, we will be more than happy to provide you with a quote based on your requirements.
How do we book?
Once you have decided 40|Beat is the band for you, we will take a deposit and that will secure your date. The remaining balance will be paid 1 week before your event.
Do I need to provide anything for the band?
We provide all of our own equipment and lighting that we require to perform our set. We are also covered with public liability insurance and our equipment is fully PAT tested. It is important to check with your venue in advance of making a booking to ensure there will be enough space for a live band to set up and perform, and also if the venue has a sound limiter on-site. These things can determine if it's possible for us to provide you with entertainment for your event. The majority of venues will have this information on hand.

We always play these from our laptop so there's no pressure to choose one right away. We always play Loch Lomond as a standard finish but this can be changed if it doesn't suit. We also play this at roughly 11:30pm just in case there are a few guests that need to leave a bit early and then our DJ set continues on till 12am.
